Protest march against Smithsonian’s censorship, Dec. 19, 2010

New York City. Yesterday artists and freedom of speech activists marched from the steps of The Metropolitan Museum of Art up Fifth Avenue to the Cooper-Hewitt/Smithsonian Museum on 91st Street.  The group was protesting the Smithsonian’s removal of the “Fire in My Belly” video by David Wojnarowicz from the Hide/Seek exhibit at the National Portrait Gallery and demanding its reinstatement.  Additional info: http://artpositive.org/
